When it comes to explaining why Escalante lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaxen Cottam. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Cottam is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Korben Young, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Wayne now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Escalante, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne will take on Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Valley is ranked 91st, while Wayne is ranked 103rd). As for Escalante, they will be playing at home against Telos at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Telos comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
