Angola waltzed into their game on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They rang in the new year with a 52-43 victory over the Fremont Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hornets also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Angola to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bailey Holman, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ava Rinard, who posted 11 points.

Angola smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Angola's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Fremont, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5.

Angola will face off against East Noble at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. East Noble will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Angola surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fremont, they will head out to take on Churubusco at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
