Princeton gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Spring Creek with a sharp 10-4 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Mary Rachel Uzzell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Mitchell, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Mitchell, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base.
Princeton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 7-3 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Nash Central came up short against Northern Nash on Tuesday, falling 18-10.
RAYLEIGH SUMMERLIN and HALEY FRAZIER stepped up to the plate in a big way. SUMMERLIN scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while FRAZIER scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of BRYLEIGH POSEY, who scored a run and stole a base.
Nash Central now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Princeton, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Nash Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Princeton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game.
