Football Recap: John Wilson Key Part of Team Effort in Generals Win

The matchup between Shiloh and Chamblee on Friday hardly resembled the 13-10 effort from their previous meeting. The Generals strolled past the Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 40-22. That's more bragging rights for the Generals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Shiloh's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but John Wilson led the charge by rushing for 118 yards and one touchdown on only five carries, while also throwing for 39 yards and a pair of TDs. The Generals are 2-1 when Wilson posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise. Cavalli Jackson was another key rusher, gaining 136 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Shiloh was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 393 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Shiloh didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Israel Prince-Oyakhire and Taycen Roberts. With that strong performance, Roberts is now averaging an impressive 5.2 total tackles per game.

Despite the loss, Chamblee still got an impressive performance from Edward Reed, who picked up 71 receiving yards and one score, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground.

The victory made it two in a row for Shiloh and bumps their season record up to 2-4. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 22 points in those games. As for Chamblee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Shiloh didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-7 victory against Decatur on the 3rd. As for Chamblee, they have also already played their next matchup, a 41-7 win against Lakeside on the 3rd.
