Football Recap: John Wilson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Chamblee

The matchup between Shiloh and Chamblee on Friday hardly resembled the 13-10 effort from their previous meeting. The Generals strolled past the Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 40-22. The Generals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Shiloh got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was John Wilson out in front who rushed for 118 yards and one score on only five carries, and also threw for 39 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Wilson's longest rush was for an impressive 61 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Cavalli Jackson was another key back, gaining 136 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Shiloh was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 393 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 151 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Shiloh didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Israel Prince-Oyakhire and Taycen Roberts. With that strong performance, Roberts is now averaging an impressive 5.2 total tackles per game.

Despite the loss, Chamblee still got an impressive performance from Edward Reed, who picked up 71 receiving yards and one TD, and also punched in one score on the ground.

Shiloh picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Chamblee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Shiloh has already played their next matchup, a 14-7 win against Decatur on the 3rd. As for Chamblee, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 41-7 victory against Lakeside on the 3rd.
