Vina is 0-9 against Hackleburg since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Vina Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Hackleburg Panthers at 7:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Vina has struggled recently with 16 losses in a row, while Hackleburg will arrive with seven straight victories.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 46-8, which was the final score in Vina's tilt against Meek on Friday.
Meanwhile, Hackleburg stacked a third blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Shoals Christian 46-7 at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Hackleburg just coasted through the last quarter.
Blaise Vickery and Davin Dulaney were among the main playmakers for Hackleburg as the former rushed for 33 yards and two touchdowns and the latter rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Dulaney was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Cameron Ingram also helped out with an impressive 84 receiving yards.
Vina's loss was their 16th straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-7. As for Hackleburg, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Vina was dealt a bruising 44-6 loss at the hands of Hackleburg in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Vina, Daniel Cooper (who picked up 100 receiving yards and three touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
