Lee has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Boaz Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Lee is ranked 166th, while Boaz is ranked 161st).
Lee never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Columbia last Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 52-12 victory over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for Lee, who have now won three matches by 24 points or more so far this season.
Boaz fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They were the clear victor by a 45-21 margin over Douglas. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but Boaz was the (much) better team in the second half.
Tristan Childers was his usual excellent self, rushing for 188 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Childers is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played.
Lee now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Boaz, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Lee and Boaz were almost perfectly matched up when the teams last played back in October of 2022, but Lee suffered an agonizing 21-20 defeat. Can Lee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
