Even though the College Prep of America Thunder have not done well against the Mooseheart Red Ramblers recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. College Prep of America blew past Mooseheart 74-47 at home. For College Prep of America, this counts as revenge for the 59-47 defeat Mooseheart walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Hamzah Shouman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 6-for-13 from downtown and almost dropping a double-double on 30 points and nine assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of College Prep of America's points. Another player making a difference was Amar Abdulhamid, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Several Red Ramblers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tolu Erinolu, who scored 19 points. Erinolu is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Nishi Amos was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
College Prep of America has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-15 record this season. As for Mooseheart, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. College Prep of America has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Shepard at 5:00 p.m. on February 8th. Shepard is coming into the contest with six straight defeats on the road, meaning College Prep of America will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Mooseheart, they will be playing in front of their home fans against MCC at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mooseheart is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.2 points per game this season.
