Estero (Fla.) beat North Fort Myers (Fla.) 49-13 after a strong game from
Eric McFadden, who rushed for six touchdowns.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by McFadden in the first quarter, the Wildcats led 21-6 at the half.
Estero expanded its lead to 22 points entering the fourth quarter. EHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by McFadden.
Even though the Wildcats led by 22 points entering the fourth quarter, they poured the points on, scoring 14 in the fourth.
The Red Knights' Hank Gentile was the standout player for his team. The sophomore kicked two field goals.
North Fort Myers' lone touchdown came on a 10-yard pass from Brandon Makar to Brian Byrd in the third quarter.
When the two teams played each other last season, Estero came away with a 34-8 victory.
The win was a nice bounce back for EHS, which lost to Island Coast last week, 51-20. The loss was the fourth in a row for NFM.
Estero (2-1) will play a 5A District 11 game against East Lee County next week, while North Fort Myers (0-4) will take on Island Coast in a 6A District 11 game.
