Crestwood is 0-10 against Tunkhannock since May of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Comets will be playing at home against the Tigers at 4:15 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.
Crestwood took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They blew past Hanover Area 11-1. The win continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Hawkeyes: they've now won five in a row.
Kendall Mendrzycki made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Mendrzycki was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jorja Snyder, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Ella Richards was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.
Crestwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Tunkhannock put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Elk Lake a 10-0 shutout. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by ten runs or more this season.
Erin Van Ness was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Emily Patton, who scored a run while going 4-for-4.
The victory got Crestwood back to even at 3-3. As for Tunkhannock, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Crestwood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .383. However, it's not like Tunkhannock struggles in that department as they've averaged .417. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
