Westtown won the last time they faced Shipley, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Westtown strolled past Shipley with points to spare, taking the game 63-47. Given Westtown's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Shipley is ranked 393rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the defeat, Shipley had strong showings from Henry Rassmussen, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Matt Lange, who scored 13 points along with three blocks. Another player making a difference was Stevie Maniatis, who scored six points.
Westtown has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Shipley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
Westtown and Academy of the New Church will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Shipley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cross Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
