It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the South Adams Starfires had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 51-39 victory over the Flying Jets. The win was some much needed relief for South Adams as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
South Adams got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emmerson Smith out in front who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Laney Trausch was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
South Adams' victory bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Adams Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.
South Adams will square off against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Whitko will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak. Adams Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
