They took a 66-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Roncalli. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Pendleton Heights lost, one person who can't be blamed is Josiah Gustin. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with six rebounds. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Cooper Sims, who scored ten points along with five assists.
It was another big night for Drew Kegerreis, who went 7 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 1 assists for Roncalli. The contest was Kegerreis' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Greene, who scored 14 points.
Pendleton Heights now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Roncalli, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Pendleton Heights is on the road again on Thursday and play against Batesville at 4:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023.
