The Ballard Memorial Bombers will square off against the Lyon County Lyons at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Ballard Memorial's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Tuesday. Everything went their way against Carlisle County as they made off with an 11-0 victory. The Bombers haven't had any issues with the Comets recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
M Bohde made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on J Riggs, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was A Alexander, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Ballard Memorial hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lyon County). They put the hurt on Fort Campbell with a sharp 16-0 victory on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Lyons with their most commanding win of the season.
Like Ballard Memorial, Lyon County also got a great game from a two-way player: Lilly Perry. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Perry was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Courtney Collins was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Emma Brasher was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
The win got Ballard Memorial back to even at 4-4. As for Lyon County, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Saturday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Ballard Memorial hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. However, it's not like Lyon County struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
