The Martin Luther King Cougars will play host again and welcome the Roxborough Wolves, where tip off is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, Martin Luther King didn't have too much trouble with the Lions at home as they won 52-38.
Martin Luther King's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Makhai Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robinson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Robinson, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Roxborough scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Tacony Academy Charter at home to the tune of 77-49. The win was nothing new for Roxborough as they're now sitting on four straight.
It was another big night for Sahir Smith, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 20 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Stefan Phillips, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Martin Luther King's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Roxborough, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Martin Luther King strolled past the Wolves in their previous matchup back in February of 2021 by a score of 58-41. Will Martin Luther King repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
