While Kingston's win against Carsonville-Port Sanilac wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cardinals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-11 victory over the Tigers on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

Sophie Jocham and Emma Freeland did most of the damage at the plate: Jocham got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Freeland went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Ellie Bostain, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Kingston's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Carsonville-Port Sanilac, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Kingston and Carsonville-Port Sanilac will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Cardinals will square off against rival Mayville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Carsonville-Port Sanilac is set to challenge their familiar foe North Huron at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
