Wren had won three straight at home, but on Friday they bumped up to 4-2 to make it four. They slipped by the Emerald Vikings 45-44. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hurricanes also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.
Wren found their leader in sophomore Jacob Owings, who threw for 159 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes. Preston Schilling got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Wren, racking up 15 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Schilling, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Emerald lost despite a true team effort on offense.
