After flying high against the Benton Tigers last Wednesday, the Neumann Regional Academy Golden Knights came back down to earth. Neumann Regional Academy fell 59-52 to Muncy on Saturday. Neumann Regional Academy has struggled against Muncy recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Golden Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Messiah Baldwin, who scored 20 points. Baldwin hasn't dropped below 15 points for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyrick Moy, who scored 16 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Muncy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Konnor Shearer, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Shearer has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Noah Confer was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Neumann Regional Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7. As for Muncy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Neumann Regional Academy will challenge Central Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Central Mountain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Friday. As for Muncy, they will head out on the road to challenge Bucktail at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
