Academy Charter's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Port Washington 71-39. Academy Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-12.
Despite the loss, Academy Charter still got an impressive performance from Jovani Dorismond, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Dorismond scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joel Beard, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Academy Charter dropped their record down to 2-14 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Port Washington, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Academy Charter will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Port Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
