The Clint Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 14th straight loss. They were outmatched by Mountain View at home and fell 65-29. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Clint in their matchups with Mountain View: they've now lost five in a row.
Mountain View was led to victory by Devin Gonzalez and Julian Escobedo. Gonzalez dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Escobedo scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Gonzalez pulled down eight or more rebounds. Matthew Slosar was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Clint bumped their record down to 1-16 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Mountain View, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-17.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clint will take on San Elizario at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. San Elizario and Clint are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Mountain View, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
