St. John Lutheran hasn't had much luck against First Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Saints will take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. St. John Lutheran is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
St. John Lutheran lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Countryside Christian, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Saints blew past the Minutemen 9-2 on Thursday. Considering the Saints have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Adam Stillwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Eli Gill was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Spellman, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
St. John Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Countryside Christian only posted an OBP of .222.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. First Academy came out on top against Legacy Charter by a score of 10-7. The win continues a trend for First Academy in their matchups with Legacy Charter: they've now won three in a row.
Colin Bryan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Bryan was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. He has become a key player for First Academy: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-13 otherwise.
In other batting news, Dominick Peterson and Cole Bell did most of the damage at the plate: Peterson went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Bell went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. First Academy is 4-1 when Bell posts two or more runs, but 2-13 otherwise. Dylan Bell was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.
St. John Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for First Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-14.
First Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. John Lutheran has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .445. It's a different story for First Academy, though, as they've only averaged .355. Will they be able to contain St. John Lutheran's hitters?
St. John Lutheran got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March against First Academy by a conclusive 8-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
