The Farmington Scorpions will challenge the Aztec Tigers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Farmington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Farmington's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Valencia with a sharp 17-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Scorpions, who have now won three matches by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Alba Allen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hailey Curley, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Archuleta, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double.
Farmington lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more home runs.
Meanwhile, Aztec lost 9-3 to West Las Vegas on Friday.
Aztec saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamora Henry, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double was Henry's first of the season.
Farmington is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. Aztec's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Aztec's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Farmington has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Aztec, though, as they've been averaging 9.4 hits. Given Farmington's sizable advantage in that area, Aztec will need to find a way to close that gap.
