Arvada West hasn't had much luck against Chatfield recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chargers at 4:00 p.m. Arvada West is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Arvada West had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 48-point drubbing they dealt Denver East on Friday. The Wildcats really took it to the Angels for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

Arvada West's run defense was locked in: Denver East could only muster 2.3 yards per carry. While three picked up at least five total tackles, Cullum stood above the rest. He rushed for 59 yards and two TDs. Arvada West didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.8.
Arvada West didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Atticus Tillman and Tucker Rhoades. Tillman got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Chatfield was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They took down Denver South 33-16.
Arvada West better keep an eye on Cash Williams. He was instrumental in Chatfield's win, throwing for 173 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also punching in two scores on the ground. Williams' passing game has become a key predictor of the Chargers' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-4 otherwise.
The victory got Chatfield back to even at 4-4. As for Arvada West, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.
Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Duhachek and Williams. Duhachek just won't slow down this season and has thrown 25 touchdowns (and and only 5 picks) while averaging 241.5 passing yards per game. Williams has been a dominant force too and has thrown 20 touchdowns while averaging 187.2 passing yards per game.
Arvada West and Chatfield were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but Arvada West came up empty-handed after a 22-21 loss.
