Softball Recap: Newton County Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

While Newton County's victory against St. Patrick wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Newton County Cougars narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the St. Patrick Fighting Irish 4-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Newton County pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for St. Patrick, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
