After flying high against the Ashbrook Greenwave last Wednesday, the Crest Chargers came back down to earth. Crest fell to Stuart W. Cramer 59-53. If Crest hoped to take revenge for the 47-40 loss against they when the teams met on Friday, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the loss, Crest still got an impressive performance from Monica Surratt, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Blackwell, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Stuart W. Cramer found their leader in underclassman Oshauna Holland, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Holland has scored at least a third of Stuart W. Cramer's points. Hadley Womack was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Crest's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Stuart W. Cramer, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Crest will head out on the road to take on South Point at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully South Point focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday. As for Stuart W. Cramer, they will be playing at home against Huss at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Huss is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.6 points per game.
