Norcross (Ga.) extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 28-7 victory over
Lowndes (Valdosta, Ga.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
A.j. Bush to
Chris Herndon in the first quarter, the Blue Devils were up 14-0 at the half.
Norcross grew its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. NHS scored two times in the third, including once on an Bush touchdown run.
Lowndes' only touchdown came on a 65-yard pass from undefined to
Malik Roberts in the third quarter.
Led by
Lorenzo Carter, the Blue Devils went into the matchup giving up only 13.8 points per game. The seven points that the Vikings ended with were well below their average of 31.5 coming into the game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Lowndes, which notched a 23-18 victory over Lovejoy in its previous outing. The loss broke Lowndes' two-game winning streak.
