Angleton has gone 6-1 against Santa Fe recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Angleton will welcome Santa Fe at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Angleton was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Iowa Colony on Friday. Angleton blew past Iowa Colony 15-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Meanwhile, Santa Fe entered their tilt with Iowa Colony on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Pioneers. With that victory, the Indians brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Mallory Richardson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other pitching news, Aubrey Withers looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in February.
Back at the plate, Santa Fe got a massive performance out of Madelyne Baulis, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Baulis has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelynn Torres, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Santa Fe kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Angleton's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Santa Fe, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.
Angleton took their win against Santa Fe in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 11-3. Does Angleton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Santa Fe turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
