Basketball Recap: Timothy Christian Comes Up Short

Timothy Christian was the 65-37 winner over Illiana Christian when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Timothy Christian Trojans took a 46-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Illiana Christian Vikings.

Despite the loss, Timothy Christian still got an impressive performance from Elisabeth Van Den Berg, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 boards. Van Den Berg has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Mia Schilf was another key player, putting up four points and four steals.

Illiana Christian's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kennedy Voss, who posted 12 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Keilah Mudde, who went 5 of 10 en route to 13 points.

Timothy Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Illiana Christian, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Timothy Christian has already played their next game (against Aurora Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Illiana Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Calumet Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th.
