The LaConner Braves won the last time they faced the Mt. Baker Mountaineers, and things went their way on Monday too. LaConner put the hurt on Mt. Baker with a sharp 47-27 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for LaConner.
LaConner found their leader in underclassman Maeve Mccormick, who scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Mccormick has scored at least 25% of LaConner's points. Nora Mccormick was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
LaConner now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Mt. Baker, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
LaConner will head out on the road to face off against Orcas Island at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Baker will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Burlington-Edison at 7:15 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
