Basketball Game Preview: Milford Eagles vs. Winton Woods Warriors

Milford is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Winton Woods is on a 13-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Milford Eagles will host the Winton Woods Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Milford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season.

If Milford beats Winton Woods with 49 points on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Milford walked away with a 49-36 victory over Loveland on Monday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Tigers are ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Milford got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabby Chadwell out in front who posted nine points in addition to seven steals and five rebounds. Chadwell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 16 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Violet Shuluga, who had 14 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Winton Woods blew past Little Miami, posting a 67-36 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Milford has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Winton Woods, their win bumped their record up to 18-0.
