Queens Teaching's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 78-56 walloping at the hands of Cardozo. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Jordin Walker had an outrageously good game for Cardozo as he scored 25 points along with nine assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Walker has scored at least 25% of Cardozo's points. Darius Mihai was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Queens Teaching's defeat was their third straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Cardozo, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Queens Teaching will be playing in front of their home fans against Forest Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Forest Hills knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Queens Teaching likes a good challenge. As for Cardozo, they will head out on the road to face off against Francis Lewis at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
