Mount Hamilton recap November 13, 2013
Pioneer scaled the state rankings by moving to 362 from 388 this week, the biggest jump in Mount Hamilton. The Mustangs were able to move up by beating Oak Grove 27-6.
Piedmont Hills added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Willow Glen, 28-27. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Pirates.
Hakeem Mays was a passing and rushing force as the Rams lost to Piedmont Hills.
Mays was a beast in the backfield as Willow Glen fell to Matthew Kiesle's team.
Anthony McBride threw for 226 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was 17-23 with 2 interceptions.
Mays was the best running back in the league this week. In 42 carries, he ran for 368 yards as Oscar Caballero's team topped Oscar Caballero's team. Josh Landers also contributed to the rushing game with 51 yards on the ground.
Leading Mount Hamilton in both passing and receiving yards, Piedmont Hills' McBride and Romero have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-11 quarterback McBride has thrown for 1,716 yards this season, while Romero has 38 catches for 699 yards. The Rams' Mays leads the league in rushing yards with 1,528.
The Pirates are currently in first, while Pioneer is in third.
Sobrato fell to Independence 42-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
