The Taylor County Bulldogs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 35-34 to Maclay. That's two games in a row now that Taylor County has lost by exactly a single point.
When it comes to explaining why Taylor County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Deandre Flowers. Despite the final result, he rushed for 165 yards and three touchdowns. Dj Mccoy was another key contributor, gaining 78 total yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for George Grant, who threw for 322 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Nash Beshears was in the mix too, providing Maclay with two touchdowns.
Taylor County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Maclay, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Taylor County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Maclay will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. John Paul II at 7:30 p.m. on November 17th. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Tremaine Hughes Jr. and Grant.
