Tri-West Hendricks got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Daniel Thomas out in front who went 7-for-8 en route to 22 points. Thanks to that strong game, Thomas now owns an excellent 45.9% field goal percentage. Ryan Miller was another key player, shooting 45% from the field to rack up 17 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Danville walked away with it. They were the clear victor by an 80-56 margin over the Hot Dogs on Tuesday. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 22 points or more this season.
Danville's win came from a few key players Tri-West Hendricks will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Steven Webb, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards. Those 19 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Mcmahon, who went 6-for-11 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds.
Danville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 17 consecutive contests.
Tri-West Hendricks pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points over those games. As for Danville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's game: Tri-West Hendricks has been dynamite from deep this season, having nailed 35.4% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Danville, though, as they've only made 27.9% of their three-pointers this season. Given Tri-West Hendricks' sizable advantage in that area, Danville will need to find a way to close that gap.
Tri-West Hendricks beat Danville 72-63 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tri-West Hendricks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
