The Middle Creek Mustangs lost against the Holly Springs Golden Hawks back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Middle Creek fell 65-54 to the Golden Hawks. Middle Creek has struggled against the Golden Hawks recently, as their contest on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Middle Creek lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brandon Ihle, who scored 18 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Obataobie Okafor, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four blocks.
Middle Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Holly Springs, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middle Creek will challenge the Imps at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cary is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Holly Springs, they will head out on the road to square off against the Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Green Level will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
