Port Edwards came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to Wild Rose. The Blackhawks have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Port Edwards was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 27-25, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Port Edwards had strong showings from Hayden Kleifgen, who had 22 digs and one assist, and Evelyn Fletcher, who had four digs and two aces. Kleifgen is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 20 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Kaelyn Green also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Northland Lutheran, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past White Lake 3-0 on Thursday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Lakers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
The final score came out to 25-13, 25-16, 25-6.
Port Edwards better keep an eye on Natalie Ostrowski. She was instrumental in Northland Lutheran's win, getting 14 digs.
Northland Lutheran was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since the start of last season.
Northland Lutheran now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Port Edwards, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
Port Edwards came up short against Northland Lutheran in their previous matchup on September 4th, falling 2-0. Can the Blackhawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
