Ashley barely beat Coastal Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Screaming Eagle put the hurt on the Centurions with a sharp 3-0 win on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Screaming Eagle as they're now sitting on three straight.
Ashley never let Coastal Christian on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 28-26, 25-13.
Jessie Hill paced Ashley's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hill got some help from Sarah Brannin and her 29 assists. Elin Bentley controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
Ashley's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Coastal Christian, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ashley will challenge New Hanover at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coastal Christian, they will face off against Arendell Parrott Academy at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
