Wall barely beat Merkel the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Wall blew past Merkel 14-1 on Friday. Considering the Hawks have won ten matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Wall is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. Merkel is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Wall will have a chance to go back-to-back against Merkel: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
