The Trinity Academy Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Ravenscroft Ravens at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with nine straight defeats, while Ravenscroft will come in with five straight wins.
Trinity Academy's last matchup with St. David's could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Tigers lost 10-2 to the Warriors.
Trinity Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Bondy, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ravenscroft). They put the hurt on Durham Academy with a sharp 13-2 victory on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Ravens with their most commanding win of the season.
Matthew Hutter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Matthew Madewell was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reed Holt, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Ravenscroft kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.8.
Ravenscroft's record now sits at 9-4. As for Trinity Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
Trinity Academy might still be hurting after the 16-1 defeat they got from Ravenscroft when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
