Grant saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ahmarahzanee' Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Smith is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
Meanwhile, Antelope came into Tuesday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Kennedy by a score of 7-3 on Tuesday.
Andrea Quintanilla spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.
At the plate, Peyton Long was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Deanna Richardson, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Antelope hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Grant's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12-1. As for Antelope, their record is now 5-7.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Grant has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464. However, it's not like Antelope struggles in that department as they've averaged .438. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Grant might still be hurting after the 21-1 loss they got from Antelope in their previous meeting on April 1st. Can the Pacers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
