The D DME Academy are ranked highly in their home state, and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Morris Catholic Crusaders. D fell just short of Morris Catholic by a score of 63-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Mia Pauldo, who scored 28 points along with seven assists for Morris Catholic. Pauldo is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Pauldo, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
D has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-4 record this season. As for Morris Catholic, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.
D won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Shabach Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on January 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Shabach Christian Academy is ranked seventh in Maryland, while D is ranked fifth in Florida). As for Morris Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Union City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
