The Fayette Academy Vikings can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They took down Varsity Opponent 73-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Fayette Academy found their leader in underclassman Clay Anderson, who scored 14 points along with nine assists and eight rebounds. Those nine assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Dawkins, who scored 16 points.
Fayette Academy's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7. As for Varsity Opponent, their loss was their tenth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 192-736-6.
Fayette Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Central Baptist at 7:30 p.m. on December 29th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Central Baptist is ranked 317th, while Fayette Academy is ranked 326th). Varsity Opponent will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Bridge City at 1:30 p.m. on December 28th.
