The Parsippany Redhawks will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Butler Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Parsippany has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
Parsippany fought the good fight in their overtime game against North Warren Regional on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 62-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Thomas Niedermaier, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. He scored a full 35% of Parsippany's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Arthur Smith was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Butler beat Morris County Tech 43-31 on Friday.
Parsippany's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Butler, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Parsippany couldn't quite finish off Butler in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 and fell 45-43. Can Parsippany avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
