Given East Prairie's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Westwood Baptist Academy is ranked 144th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Westwood Baptist Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ben Jones. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of James Hawley, who scored nine points along with four steals.
East Prairie is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Westwood Baptist Academy, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-2.
