This season hasn't been kind to the Lordstown Red Devils, who are still winless after their 11th contest. They had to suffer through a rough 54-15 loss at the hands of Pymatuning Valley. Lordstown has not had much luck with Pymatuning Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Pymatuning Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jolene Sharpe, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals. Sharpe has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Hitchcock, who scored eight points.
Lordstown's defeat was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-11. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.0 points per game. As for Pymatuning Valley, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Lordstown will be playing in front of their home fans against St. John at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pymatuning Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Windham at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Windham is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
