Baseball Recap: Flowers Starts Season with Victory at Home

Flowers gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Douglass Eagles with a sharp 10-4 win. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Bryson Hopkins was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Ivan Valdez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Douglass' defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Flowers will be playing in front of their home fans against Bowie at 11:00 a.m. on March 22nd. As for Douglass, they will face off against Parkdale at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
