Brackenridge hasn't had much luck against Seguin recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Matadors at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Brackenridge 3.7, Seguin 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Brackenridge is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Burbank on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 22, 2025.

Andres Gallegos
Andres Gallegos was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Brackenridge is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-7 otherwise. Gallegos was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seguin). Everything went their way against Jefferson on Tuesday as they made off with a 19-1 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Matadors, who have now won nine matchups in a row.
Like Brackenridge, Seguin also got a great game from a two-way player: Griffin Welfel. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Welfel has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
In other pitching news, Connor Taft looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Ethan Tipple was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathaniel Herrera, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
Seguin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in seven consecutive games.
Seguin's victory bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Brackenridge, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Brackenridge has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Seguin struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Brackenridge suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Seguin in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
