The biggest upset of the week belonged to Southside, who took down 64th ranked Etowah, 27-26. Dantley Coker ran for 146 yards and caught three passes for 34 yards in the win.
Fort Payne extended the longest winning streak in 5A Region 7 this week by beating Brewer, 49-12. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Southside's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Patrick Lister has thrown for 817 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Blake Devine has 17 catches for 297 yards. Coker leads the league in rushing with 995 yards.
The Panthers' Coker needs only five yards against the Patriots next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Boaz takes on the Blue Devils. The Pirates are currently in third, while Etowah is in second.
Fort Payne took down Brewer 49-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
