Strawberry Crest is 9-1 against Armwood since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Strawberry Crest Chargers will be playing at home against the Armwood Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Strawberry Crest's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. At the plate, Dillon Knight was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Reuben Vasquez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Armwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Chamberlain 3-1.
Zalen Hicks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carlos Navarro, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Armwood's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Strawberry Crest, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Strawberry Crest has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Armwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Strawberry Crest's way against Armwood in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Strawberry Crest made off with a 7-1 victory. Will Strawberry Crest repeat their success, or does Armwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
