Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Willard). They walked away with a 57-45 victory over the Carthage Tigers on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for Willard as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Willard's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Carthage, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Willard will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kickapoo at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Carthage, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 35-31 victory against Chadwick on the 28th.
